Join GLOBE for a fun Sunday afternoon out with like-minded people! It’ll be a great way to meet new people and learn a bit about bowls. 

You can enter a team of three; as a pair; or as a single and be allocated a team.

The cost includes bowls’ hire, a demo of the basics, two hours of bowling and a BBQ following bowling. Drinks are offered at ‘social club’ prices.

Greens & Surrounds

We have two synthetic greens, one of which is brand new, for a combined total of 18 rinks. The two greens, which allow up to 8 players per rink, are open all the year. In addition to that, we have several beer gardens located around the greens to cater for small or large groups.

House Rules

While the committee, staff and members encourage visitors and hope patrons enjoy their visit, Fitzroy Victoria is a club not a pub and as such certain standards of behaviour are expected from both guests and members.

With this in mind, please note that the club operates under the Responsible Service of Alcohol rules and can refuse service. Also, overly abusive or offensive language and behaviour will not be tolerated nor will any behaviour which has the potential to cause damage to property or other patrons.

To help make the experience more pleasant for everyone and to ensure your safety and enjoyment here are a few guidelines..

• Only flat soled shoes, socks or bare feet are permitted on the greens. No boots, rippled soles or heels of any type please.
• Acceptable clothing
  Soiled work clothes are not acceptable. Singlet tops are not considered sunsmart and may also offend other patrons. While sunscreen is available at the bar, visitors are advised to wear hats and cover up while outside.
• Food, drink and smoking are not permitted on the greens at any time. Once again, spills and accidents can damage the greens.
• Bowls are for rolling not throwing - bowls are heavy and any delivered with speed or from above knee height have potential for injury to yourself or others as well as damaging the green.
• Be careful!
  Because the greens gets busy you may need to exercise some caution and be aware of what is happening on the rinks around you. You can't always predict what others bowls might do so be careful - especially if you are lying on the green taking photos or something or have children with you!
• Watch out!
  Things do unfortunately go missing - so keep your personal posessions close.
